Website Visibility on Google

Why Is My Website Not Showing Up on Google?

If your website isn't appearing on Google, the problem could be indexing, technical errors, or simply low search rankings. The good news is that many of these issues can be diagnosed and fixed.

According to Google Search Central, pages must be accessible to Google, return a successful response, and contain indexable content to qualify for indexing. Meeting these requirements does not guarantee inclusion in search results.

3 Reasons Your Website May Be Missing

  • Your website is new: Google may not have discovered or indexed it yet.

  • Technical issues: A noindex directive, blocked crawling, or server errors can prevent pages from appearing.

  • Weak search visibility: Your website may be indexed but rank too low for customers to find it.

How Can You Fix It?

Start by searching site:yourdomain.com on Google. Then use Google's URL Inspection tool to check individual pages. Fix any reported issues and request indexing where appropriate.

Google notes that crawling and indexing can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks, with no guarantee of inclusion (Google Search Central).
